All single freshman and sophomore traditional undergraduate students under 21 years of age and required to live in on-campus housing unless they are living with their parent/legal guardian.

To apply for off-campus housing, please complete the off-campus petition. All students must complete this petition in order to be approved for off-campus housing.

There are two printers at the library. One is a print kiosk located by the hex table computers. The second printer is located in the computer lab.

Each semester, students are allotted $11.00 to their printing account. It costs 8 cents to print in black and white. To check your printing funds account, go to print.vanguard.edu. Need to add more money to your account? Print fund cards can be purchased at the circulation desk.

Additionally, large-scale printing/copying is available in our Mail/Copy Center. For more information print/copy services, please visit our Mail Center web page. (note: students must log into our website using their VU credentials in order to access this information). 

The Library has six group study rooms available for commuter and residential student use. You must sign up to use the room. Reservations can be made online using our reservation system. Only individuals with an @vanguard.edu email address can reserve rooms. 

The Forrest Room (located in Needham Courtyard) is also available as a lounge/study area for commuter use.

To apply for a parking permit, please click here. If students do not want to pay for a parking permit, they can pay for a day parking pass on-campus at one of our parking kiosks.

All students are required to abide by our Code of Conduct. If you are living in the Residence Halls, you will also need to familiarize yourself with our housing policies. Students can find these policies in our Student Handbook, which is located on our Student Life web page.

Make sure to follow @vuscommuterlife on instagram as we post all event information there and through our weekly "Commuter Connection" Newsletters. An event news board will also be posted in the Commuter Kitchenette located in the Waugh Student Center. Examples of Commuter events include but are not limited to the following:

There are many resources available to you on campus. For one, visit the Academic Resource Center page to access helpful resources to be a successful student. For counseling services, the counseling center is currently conducting zoom meetings. Contact counselingcenter@vanguard.edu in order to set up a meeting.

Commuter Assistants (CAs) are a group of student-staff who will plan events and create opportunities for commuter students. Commuter Assistants will be reaching out to you during the Semester. If you would like to set up a meeting, email commuterlife@vanguard.edu or visit the student portal "Commuter Life Page" to schedule a meeting with a Commuter Assistant or the Assistant Director of Commuter Life.

Bon Appetit will be open for food services for residential and commuter students. To stay up to date on cafeteria policies, procedures and meal plans, visit their website. For Commuter students, meal plans are available but meals can also be purchased with debit/credit cards.

*Commuter meal plans are for VC and off-campus students only. Commuter meal plans can be purchased online at www.vanguard.edu/commutermeals or through the Office of Accounting.
