Student Care & Conduct

Who We Are

We are non-clinical case managers eager to engage students as they navigate their social, emotional, physical, academic, and relational wellness at Vanguard. Our team assists students along the way at Vanguard: particularizing care and support, providing referrals to campus partners, creating accountability and growth opportunities, and aiding in roommate mediation.

What We Offer

At Vanguard University, we strive to support students' emotional wellbeing through the Residence Life Office's Student Care umbrella. This encompasses non-clinical case management dedicated to students experiencing academic, relational, emotional, physical, or mental health-related distress, grounded in Christian compassion, support, and personal development. Additionally, we offer support and, when necessary, compassionate discipline to those who violate the community standards outlined in the student handbook. In all situations, we strive to support students from a developmental and community-focused perspective.

Campus Partners

The Student Care and Conduct office partners with various offices across campus to ensure students are holistically supported and resourced. We partner with the Office of Accounting, The Career Center, The Counseling Center, Disability Services, faculty and advisors, Housing, The Health Center, Athletics, Campus Safety, the Academic Resource Center, Bon Appetite, and Living Well

Compassionate Community

We believe in fostering a supportive and compassionate community where every individual feels valued and understood. Addressing mental health is a vital part of student success at Vanguard. We encourage students to help de-stigmatize mental health by embracing open conversations about emotional wellbeing and recognizing that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Just as we care for our physical health, taking care of our mental health is essential for personal growth and academic success. By supporting one another and breaking down the barriers around mental health, we can create an environment where everyone can thrive. The Student Care and Conduct office provides dedicated case managers who will champion all students’ health and whole-person wellness.
