How will Vanguard monitor our health and wellness?
We will be using the Titan app for daily self-monitoring. Every day we are asking all students, faculty and staff on campus to complete the self monitor questionnaire on the app.
Will I need to quarantine when I arrive if coming from out of state or a hot spot?
Vanguard is not requiring students to quarantine, but if a student believes they may have had contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please follow CDC guidance and self-isolate and contact your healthcare provider for testing.
Will testing be available on campus?
Yes, we have purchased a rapid and reliable SARS-CoV-2 antigen testing system for campus. This testing will be utilized in our Student Health Center under the management of our nurse practitioner.
What will happen if I test positive?
We have set aside space for isolation and have isolation procedures should that be needed. If a student tests positive, they will need to seek evaluation and advice from their primary/family physician regarding their infection. This medical provider will guide them regarding their personal situation and the current quarantine guidelines. Our Student Health Center on campus can help them locate a treating physician if they do not have a local family doctor. If they test positive, the university requests that they remain off campus (unless they live on campus) until they have been cleared to discontinue quarantine. If you live on campus, you will be asked to report your diagnosis as soon as possible so that adjustments to your living situation can be made, if needed. Additionally, the university would appreciate any students and/or staff that tests positive for COVID-19 to report this via covid19@vanguard.edu to aid in contact tracing and advisement regarding returning to campus.
