Outstanding Student of the Year Award
The Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership Outstanding Student of the Year Award honors senior students who embody the late Dr. Jesse Miranda’s inspiring ethos of “hearts on fire and minds ablaze.” This recognition celebrates excellence in academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating Seniors
Open to members of the Class of 2026.

Hispanic/Latino Identity
Applicants must self-identify as Hispanic/Latino.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated academic excellence, such as a minimum GPA of 3.5, honors, or other academic distinctions.
- Proven leadership at Vanguard University or within the community, including campus involvement, extracurricular activities, or formal leadership roles.
- A strong commitment to community service, demonstrated through meaningful contributions to school, church, or community initiatives
Application Process
The application will be open in February, and eligible students will be notified via email and invited to submit their applications. To ensure accuracy, we recommend drafting your responses in a Word document before submitting them through the online form.
