Ioana Sandescu is one of the first graduates of the Online Human Trafficking Certificate Program. She studied from Romania where she currently works as the Director of ELiberare. We ask her to share her experience in this program.

The Global Center for Woman and Justice sent 12 students to Greece for an intensive Country Study on Human Trafficking led by Dr. Sandra Morgan and Adjunct Professor Derek Marsh. There they partnered with Bridges, a Humanitarian organization responding to the refugee crisis in Athens, Greece.

Sandra Morgan wants women to be leaders at universities — even if it means she has to travel across the globe to help them achieve it.

July 2016 the Deputy Minister of Iraqi Higher Education and 5 women academics come to Vanguard to participate in a ten-day professional development leadership seminar.

A licensed counselor and and chairman of a local coalition working against human trafficking explains the benefits of completing her certificate program.

In February 2017, Dr. Morgan served as a Subject Matter Expert for the cosponsored Sins Before Our Eyes Forum on Human Trafficking cosponsored by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, His All Holiness Bartholomew, and the Church of England Primate, the Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace Justin Welby. 

Khot Deng is a State Department Fellow with the Community Solutions Plan and he came to visit GCWJ.

Finishing my time here at Vanguard and planning for my future, I cannot help but look back on my internship experience.I realized the importance and lack of collaboration among groups fighting for the same cause.

I look forward to learning about how I can be more effective for Gods kingdom as a woman in Christ.

Being a women’s studies minor and an intern for the Global Center has helped me discover my passion and what I want to do with my future career.
