Fall 2020 Plan

OUR PLAN FOR FALL 2020Our commitment to you: We will invest time and resources to provide a remote learning experience that captures the essence and fabric of a Vanguard University education.

On Wednesday, July 29, Vanguard University announced beginning the fall 2020 semester with remote learning. While we have been preparing to return to in-person learning on campus this fall, investing in resources to do so in a safe and responsible way, statewide guidance was not released in a timely manner to inform our return to campus planning. And, California has not moved to Stage 3 on its Resilience Roadmap and college/university reopening is prohibited until such occurs.

"We understand the enormity of this announcement and the burdens that come with it for you and your family. I share your disappointment and sadness that in-person learning is delayed. Please be assured that we are ready for our in-person return as it is approved."

- President Michael J. Beals, Ph.D.

The University commits to deliver the Vanguard experience in a remote learning format that provides:

  • An excellent Christ-centered education with professors who will continue to mentor and invest in your learning and life.
  • Customized and accessible student support services, including academic support, counseling and career development services.
  • Enriching virtual student engagement opportunities with fellow students and Vanguard faculty and staff.
  • Dynamic spiritual formation discipleship groups small groups and mentorship.

For Degree-seeking students enrolled in an in-person program, we are working on a plan to provide financial relief toward what you will pay for fall 2020.

Vanguard residence halls will open with reduced occupancy. Clear protocols and practices that prioritize health and well-being are in place.
