Professor Berkompas' area of expertise is acting and directing, and she holds a Certificate of Completion from the BADA where she studied with Sir John Barton, founder of RSC in Stratford. She is a member of SAG/AFTRA and founded the theatre company, ACTC.

Professor Berkompas teaches Acting I, II and III, Character Acting for Comedy, Playing Shakespeare, Directing Fundamentals, and directs every genre of plays and musicals. Being able to teach at VU enables her to pray with her students and to explore the elements of acting with them in a safe space. 

Professor Lia Hansen's areas of expertise are costume design, costume construction, makeup design, and theatre history.  She holds an MFA in costume design and has been working in the field for over 25 years. 

To stay current, she has both participated in and led break-out groups for the nation-wide Costume Educator’s Workshop since 2020, and attended sessions of The Costume Society of America. 

She is teaching at Vanguard because she believes it is important demonstrate how and prepare students to share the light of Christ in typically non-Christian environments. 

Warren Doody is a professor of English and the current hair of the English department at Vanguard University, where he has taught for the last twenty-five years. His range of classes runs from Shakespeare to American literature to a variety of creative writing courses, including Playwriting, Travel Writing and the Short Story. 

Professor Doody is also a working playwright, and his original scripts include Life Without Parole, Development, and Enlightenment.com. His most recent effort, Angels in Disguise, received its World Premiere in December 2019. His plays have received productions in New York, Los Angeles, and Canada, and throughout the United States.

Professor Doody is grateful for the opportunity to teach at Vanguard University and impart his knowledge and experience about literature and writing to his many wonderful students.
