Offered: On Campus Apply

Positively Impact Health Outcomes in Your Community with a Degree in Nursing

The BSNPre-Licensure program equips students to be compassionate health care providers and leaders in the Nursing profession.

The program is for students who need to complete prerequisite courses or may be ready to apply to the Nursing major but are not licensed nurses. Following completion of the bachelor's program, these students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam to become licensed nurses.

We offer two pathways to the BSN—Pre-Licensure Degree:

  • Pre-Nursing for first-time freshmen and transfer students who need to complete prerequisite courses.
  • Nursing for transfer students (current Vanguard undergraduates or transfers from other institutions) who have completed prerequisites and are ready to apply into the Nursing major.

Expert Instruction

Students will receive simulated training in two on-campus, state-of-the-art Simulation Labs from a faculty with extensive clinical and teaching experience. You will learn how to assess, plan, test, and evaluate innovative and evidence-based solutions to patient care problems across a variety of healthcare settings.

Strong Clinical Partnerships

You will take part in clinical training at leading partner health care facilities including St. Jude Medical Center, Orange County Global Medical Center, St. Joseph Hospital, Children's Hospital of Orange County and Orange Coast Medical Center. As a student in the Nursing department, you will also participate in a variety of community-based experiences.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Vanguard University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.
