Fast-track your Elementary Teaching Career with a Degree in Liberal Studies and a Teaching Credential

The Liberal Studies Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) integrates a Bachelor of Arts degree with a preliminary California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential by combining the study of academic subject matter for elementary school teaching with professional preparation and student teaching. Our accelerated Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) will fast-track your journey towards becoming a skilled educator, earning both a bachelor's degree and teaching credential seamlessly, so you can inspire and make a difference in the classroom sooner.

Accelerated Program

The ITEP program allows students to obtain their BA Liberal Studies degree and complete all their Teaching Credential coursework and clinical field experience in four years compared to the traditional five year timeframe. That means that students will be able to begin their teaching careers immediately after graduation.

Flexible Pacing and Structure

In the ITEP program, students will focus on their undergraduate courses in Years 1-3 and in Year 4 students will complete the Teaching Credential portion that consists of coursework and student teaching experience. Students also have the option of taking summer courses to alleviate the course load over the Fall and Spring semesters. Dedicated advisors work with you to stay on track and customize the pacing to suit your needs.
