All my professors have been nothing but supportive and encouraged my learning everyday."
Amanda Lau, Class of 2020
Pre-Licensure, BSN, Cohort 1
"Over the years, leading up to this point, I have grown a deep appreciation for nurses’ selflessness and willingness to care for their patients. This intangible gift of healing made me drawn to become a nurse one day. Two years ago, I moved to Costa Mesa and attended Vanguard University of Southern California. As a transfer student, my experience at Vanguard was unlike any ordinary university I've been to. It has allowed me to grow closer to the Lord throughout my time here. All my professors have been nothing but supportive and encouraged my learning everyday. This experience has tested my ability to adapt in high stress situations and become efficient with whatever I may be faced with. Thanks to Vanguard University's Nursing Program I am delighted to say with the education and wisdom I have received, I'm proud to finally introduce myself as Amanda S Lau RN, BSN."
Pursuing my MSN degree at Vanguard University was one of the most impactful decisions of my life."

Master of Science in Nursing
"My journey at Vanguard University started with an opening prayer at the MSN information meeting in 2015. I was a newly wed, had just moved to Orange County, and started working full time in the Critical Care unit at St. Joseph Hospital. Although I was hesitant to start my MSN journey with so many changes in my personal and professional life, my colleague and VU alumni at the hospital reassured me the nursing faculty at Vanguard were incredibly understanding and would foster my academic, professional and personal growth… and SHE WAS RIGHT! Dr. Annette Callis, was there for me every step of the way during the two year journey, even if it meant making Zoom calls at 9 pm. My leadership preceptorship led to a promotion as the Senior Risk Management Specialist at St. Jospeh hospital in Orange. Most of my classmates were also promoted as the result of their thesis projects for improving patient care. Pursuing my MSN degree at Vanguard University was one of the most impactful decisions of my life."
