Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate

Bridge the gap in healthcare and become a mental health specialist nurse and address the social and health care needs of vulnerable populations.

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate program prepares master’s-level nurses for advanced practice in providing mental health care for children, adolescents, adults and older adults experiencing psychiatric and mental health disorders. Through our synchronous and independent online format, you will become competent in clinical practice guidelines, study alongside experts in mental health care and learn to promote a variety of treatment strategies to diverse populations.

The 18-month (five semester) online post-master’s certificate is available for applicants with a California RN license and either a MSN or DNP. This program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Upon completion of this program, you will be qualified to apply for a nurse practitioner license from the California Board of Registered Nursing and take the national certificate exam for the psychiatric/mental health specialty from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
