Sample Curriculum Schedules
Track Options
We strive to serve the needs of working, part-time and full-time students in our program by offering our classes in a variety of tracks (2, 3 or 4 year), formats (on campus or online) and times (afternoon and evening). Tracks are recommendations on which classes to take when in order to complete the degree in the desired amount of time; changes to the track may be possible.
Schedule Options Include
- 3-year track – 7.5-10 units per semester, afternoon and evening classes (most popular).
- 3-year, evening only track – 7.5-10 units per semester, evening classes only.
- 4-year track, 6-7.5 units per semester, afternoon and evening classes.
- 4-year, evening only track – 6-7.5 units per semester, evening classes only.
- 2-year track – 12-14 units per semester, afternoon and evening classes.
- Note: the 2-year track is an accelerated track which has qualification criteria and must be approved by the department.
Switching Tracks
We will always do our best to accommodate students desire to switch tracks. During advising we will talk through the options and what effects switching tracks may have on your schedule or financial requirements. Some limitations are:
- Speeding up to a 2-year track is not possible.
- You must be registered for a minimum of 5 units in a semester to receive financial aid in that semester.
- On campus and Online tracks are separate and students on each track are guaranteed priority registration in their format. Registration across formats or switching between on campus and online tracks is only possible when space is available.
On Campus Track Times
- A three-unit course is three hours, once a week, for sixteen weeks.
- Our classes are typically offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from either 3:30-6:30 pm or 7:00-10:00 pm. (Past schedules can be found here.)
- An evening only track is available and allows students to graduate in three or four years, taking only evening courses two to three nights a week.
Online Track Times
- A three-unit course is offered for two hours, once a week, for eight weeks. (Practicum related classes are 16 weeks.)
- Our classes are typically offered on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from either 4:00-6:00 pm or 6:30-8:30 pm. (Schedule examples.)
- An evening only track is available and allows students to graduate while taking only evening courses.
- We currently offer a 3 and 4 year track for the online format, but a 2-year track will be available in the future.
Online Track Face-to-Face Experiences
In addition to live, online course participation, students will have 3 on campus, face-to-face experiences:
- Orientation Weekend.
- Current Topics course taken over a weekend in the first summer semester.
- Group Psychotherapy course taken over an extended weekend in the final spring semester.
3-Year, Evening Only Track
The 3-year, evening only option is available on a limited, first come first served basis (based on completed application date), so APPLY NOW if you would like this option. Once all spots are filled, we will keep a wait list, and while evening courses will still be available to all students, they will not be guaranteed.
The 3-year, evening only track guarantees* graduation in three years with most on campus track classes starting at 7:00 pm, except for a few classes beginning as early as 5:00 pm, and most online track classes starting at 6:30pm. Depending on the semester, students will attend classes 2-3 nights a week.
* Guarantee of graduation in three years with evening only courses is only applicable to students who follow the prescribed schedule.
