2019 Commencement Recap

As graduating students gathered in their regalia, Mariners Church was packed with family and friends as the class of 2019 prepared to walk across the stage.  A sea of multi-generational families, flashing cameras and graduation tassels flooded the floor of the venue.

It was an emotional experience for many as the Vanguard University graduating class seemed to be moving forward to new beginnings in their life. Some, planning to go for more terminal degrees while others accepting positions for themselves in the working world.

President Beals took the stage to acknowledge his beloved community. Constituents looked to the LED Screens as they watched him beseech the graduating class to embrace the journey ahead and to continue to trust in the Lord's plans for their lives. Our guest speaker Capt. Catherine Santiago, an alumni Air Force officer, addressed the graduating class encouraging them to pursue their goals despite any trials ahead and to have grit. After the ceremony, graduates and families gathered outside where they took pictures in celebrating the success of their sons and daughters. Vanguard stands proud with our 2019 graduating class and prays for their future.
