The purpose of the University Diversity Council is to maximize student success and thriving by fostering a Christ-centered community that promotes appreciation and respect for individuals, nurture the development of its constituents, and value differences in gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, abilities, socio-economic status, denomination, and generation.

Vanguard university is a proud Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). HSIs are designated by the U.S. Department of Education through criteria defined as an institution of higher education that has an enrollment of undergraduate full-time equivalent students that is at least 25% Hispanic.

Named after the beloved Pentecostal pioneer and leader, Dr. Jesse Miranda, JMC exists to educate, equip, and empower Latina/o leaders for the purpose of transforming the campus, church, and community through education and partnerships. Learn More!

The Global Center for Women and Justice equips students to address the global status of women and vulnerable populations through collaborative and restorative justice principles. Learn More!

Intercultural Student Programs (ISP) promotes Christ-centered approaches to reconciliation and advocacy, provides spaces for authentic Community, empowers students to be Culturally engaged, and serves with Compassion. ISP offers unique educational, service, and action-based experiences hosted by four clubs: Asian and Pacific Islander Club, Black Student Union, El Puente Club, and Peacemakers Club. The Leading with Integrity, Faith, and Trust (LIFT) Committee is charged to intentionally live out the Assemblies of God value of women in Leadership.

LIFT aims to develop an intentional and accessible Vanguard community. We commit to bringing the women of Vanguard together to share stories, encourage, inspire, and know one another as we support each other.

The mission of the Student Congress on Racial Reconciliation (SCORR) is to empower attendees to become catalysts for change through transformational learning and growth as they engage the diversity of the Kingdom of God. It aims:

• to provide teaching on the biblical basis on reconciliation, justice, and the Kingdom of God on earth.

• to address issues facing contemporary society and engage one another in critical dialogue on being a presence in our society.

• to explore the challenges facing Christian colleges and universities regarding diversity in Higher Education.

• to build a network of advocacy and support for students, staff and faculty who are committed to enhancing an awareness of diversity, reconciliation and shalom on Christian colleges and universities. Learn More!

The Year of Civility is a collaborative effort developed by Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to lead the Vanguard community in intentional conversations during the election year under the guidance of the three tenants below:

• Dignity - Recognize the fundamental value and DIGNITY of our community members 

• Respect - Show RESPECT to one another notwithstanding their opinions and ideas 

• Humility - Approach one another with HUMILITY acknowledging the limitations of our own perspectives and righteousness
