After 32 years of faithful service, Bill Dogterom, DMin, professor of pastoral ministries and spiritual formation, will retire at the end of the 2025-26 year. Throughout Dr. Dogterom's Vanguard career, he taught courses in pastoral ministry, spirituality, and practical theology for the undergraduate program. He brought practical experience from more than 25-year senior pastor journey to bear in his teaching and direct involvement with students, faculty, and staff. Dr. Dogterom is passionate about students, their spiritual formation, preparation for vocational ministry, and service to the church.
On April 1, 2026, Dr. Dogterom spoke in chapel for the final time in his current role. His message focused on John 13 when Jesus washes His disciples' feet. Watch his chapel message below:
