The Joys, Tensions, and Rhapsodies of Love are Center Stage Again in Vanguard University’s Love Makes the World Go ‘Round

Back by popular demand, musical revue at Vanguard University takes an old story line to new heights with memorable Broadway tunes

Costa Mesa, CA, June 17, 2013 – Vanguard University’s highly acclaimed and award-winning department of theatre arts presents a reprise of Love Makes the World Go Round, created and directed by Vanda Eggington. Love Makes the World Go Round is presented in the Lyceum Theatre on the Vanguard University campus, June 21through July 7.

While the story is the usual one – boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl – it’s the unexpected twists and turns of this clever musical revue that will keep audiences at the edge of their seats, tapping their toes.   With memorable Broadway songs spanning the decades from the 1920’s to the present, it’s an original musical revue full of good old-fashioned romance and surprise.

“We all know how the boy girl theme goes in musical theatre, and yet, we delight in seeing how these familiar circumstances unfold and how the lovebirds’ story progresses,” says Vanda Eggington, director of Love Makes the World Go ‘Round.  “Using this familiar formula, I’ve compiled a piece where songs from musical theatre are used to tell this heart thumping story.  Audiences should be prepared to take the usual ride on the rollercoaster of love in a not-so-usual way.”

Performance dates and times are June 21, 22, 28, 29, and July 5 at 8:00 pm; June 22, 23, 29, 30 and July 7 at 2:00 pm; and July 7 at 7:00 pm

All shows are presented on the campus of Vanguard University, in the Lyceum Theater. Ticket prices are $17 for general admission and $14 for seniors, children, groups and college students. Tickets may be purchased at or by calling the Theatre Department box office at 714-668-6145.
