All My Sons

American Coast Theater Company Summer 2014 Season
Opens with Arthur Miller’s Classic ‘All My Sons’

The Domestic Drama that Powerfully Reveals Unalterable Truths

Costa Mesa, CA, May 12, 2014 – The American Coast Theater Company, Vanguard University’s professional theatre company in residence, presents Arthur Miller’s powerfully compelling drama, All My Sons. The production is directed by Kevin Slay and is presented in the Lyceum Theater on the Vanguard University campus, beginning May 23, 2014 and running three weekendsthrough June 8, 2014.

Some 65 years after it was first produced, Arthur Miller’s American tragedy about the Keller family — entrepreneur father, devoted mother, and war-hero sons — still grips audiences today. This powerful post WWII drama won the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play and Tony Awards for Best Author and Director when it debuted in 1947. Two families and their two generations are united through business partnerships and then torn apart by business decisions. Greed and deception play against love and truth in this timeless soul-searing drama.

Kevin Slay, the show’s director, adds, “All My Sons is a play that speaks about our devotion to family and our responsibility to society. It presents the standard of conduct and behavior that we must hold ourselves to as we pursue the ‘American Dream,’ as well as what happens when the unspoken agreements of society fail and the common core standards of truth and hard work are maligned. All My Sons reflects the resultant consequences on a man and his family when he builds their ‘American Dream’ on a lie.”

This production is suitable for teens and older. All performances are presented on the campus of Vanguard University, in the Lyceum Theater. Ticket prices are $14 for general admission and $12 for seniors, college students and groups. Tickets may be purchased at www.actctickets.com or by calling the Theatre Department box office at 714-619-6425.

Performance dates and times are May 23, 24, 30, 31, June 6, 7 at 8:00 pm; May 25, June 1, 8 at 2:00 pm.
