Prospective students visit Vanguard for Fall Pre-VU

Last Updated Nov 2009

Find out why Vanguard University is a top-ranked school according to The Princeton Review and U.S. News and World Report by attending Fall Pre-VU 2009 on November 10 – 11. Fall Pre-VU: Campus Visit Days, allows prospective students and their families to experience the community and life of a Vanguard student. The undergraduate admissions office will be hosting the annual event.  Two hundred prospective students and 100 parents expected to participate.

“We are so excited about Pre-VU! The best thing about Vanguard is our amazing sense of community and Pre-VU allows students a chance to experience that firsthand. In years past, at least 50% of Pre-VU students end up choosing Vanguard” says associate director of undergraduate admissions Anita Hann.

Prospective students will stay overnight in the dorms, meet faculty, and engage in fellowship with other Pre-VU attendees and current VU students as they get a taste of college life. They will have the opportunity to attend a chapel service and special information sessions catered to their interests, eat in the Café, see what real classes are like and laugh with VU’s famous Delivery Boys and Entourage groups. Parents will also have opportunities to meet faculty and see what life as a VU student is like during sessions designed specifically for them.

At least half of the attendees are anticipated to make VU their university of choice, demonstrating the effectiveness of the resources and information provided to high school students and their parents during the event.

Hann hopes “that Pre-VU days give students a glimpse into the academic, social, and spiritual life at Vanguard and that when it comes to choosing a university Vanguard is at the top of their list!”
