Bicycles, Skateboards, and other forms of Transportation

VUSC is blessed to be located in the vicinity of a number of choice bike trails. A favorite of many bike enthusiasts is the Back Bay Trail, which takes a person through the Back Bay wet lands to Newport Beach and Balboa Island or along the Pacific Coast Highway. Also, one may choose to travel the opposite direction to Irvine where the bike trail passes the University of California, Irvine campus. Other trails lead to Huntington Beach along the Santa Ana River Trail or North past Angel Stadium. If you wish to take advantage of these trails and keep your bike on campus you must register your bike. For your convenience, Campus Public Safety has established a partnership with the National Bike Registry. Stop by the Campus Public Safety Office, located in the Needham Chapel complex, to receive information on this valuable program. Or you may visit the Costa Mesa Police Department to register your bike. We highly recommended that you always lock your bike when not in use with a titanium type lock as these have proven most successful in deterring thieves. Also, lock your bike through the frame of your bike and not through the front tire.
