Alicia (Baldwin ’98) LaJoie and husband Mike welcomed their first child, Jonathan, on October 5, 2009. They celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary this summer!
Sarah Kang ’07 is an English teacher in Seol, South Korea. She works with junior high students and has renewed her contract to teach for another year.
Wendy Kliewer ’80 is a psychology professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. She received a Fulbright Award to study in South Aftrica in 2011. She will be working in Durban and studying parental messages about coping with violence and drug abuse.
Cheri Reynolds ’05 has been accepted to the Psy.D. program in Clinical Forensic Psychology at the Chicago School for Professional Psychology!
Annahita Mahdavi ’07 has received her MA in Psychology from Pepperdine. She has been fulfilling her practicum at the Orange County Department of Education and is applying for a Ph.D. program. Annahita lives in Irvine.
DeAnna Griffin ’01 received her M.A. in International Disaster Psychology from the University of Denver in 2008. Currently, DeAnna is a Disaster Behavioral Health Specialist with SAMHSA DTAC (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Disaster Technical Assistance Center) in Washington, DC. “It is basically mental health programming for vulnerable populations as it relates to disaster or crisis. I am assigned to different federal crisis counseling programs with SAMHSA and FEMA. Plus I get to develop curriculum for federal training (which I love: training is my favorite part of what I have been doing for the last four years!). I was an expert reviewer for the Psychological First Aid for homeless teens. I just finished a white paper this week that will go before Congress to support the Behavioral Health response to the oil spill in the Gulf.”
Karen (Harbour) Huling ’04 is working as a Program Manager for Behavioral Intervention Association, in Fresno, CA. BIA has been serving children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in California for over 18 years.
Leslie Wood ’06 is a psychologist who lives in Corona.
Katie Goode ’03 is a marriage and family therapist specializing in treating eating disorders and anxiety in Irvine. She teaches at Hope International University and is a clinical supervisor for Hope’s counseling center.
