Amy Smith ’03 is working at the Mardan Center of Educational Therapy in Irvine as Testing Coordinator and Floating Substitute Teacher. Mardan is a pre-K to 12th grade private school for students with emotional and behavioral problems. Amy will begin at Azusa Pacific University in the fall, pursuing an M.A. in Special Education and a Teaching Credential for students with mild to moderate disabilities. (5/17/05)
Sam Bartaluzzi ’01, after receiving his M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard, is working as a Clinician at Olive Crest Treatment Centers in Santa Ana. Sam works in a group home of six boys. Sam reports that it is “very challenging work but also very rewarding. Vanguard has prepared me well for the work I am doing.”
Kimberly (Litwin ’03) Silva has been accepted into California State University, Sacramento’s School Psychology M.S. program! Kim will begin the three-year M.S. and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential program in August!
Cathy Breese ’03 will be graduating this July from Azusa Pacific University’s Clinical Psychology M.A. program!
Kimberly Cantrell ’96 is going to National University to get an M.Ed. in Cross Cultural Education and a Secondary teaching credential in Mathematics. “After I get my degree I am going to teach high school math, but plan on going back to school to also get my MA in School Administration so I can eventually become a high school principal.”
Kathleen Treihaft ’01 studied Criminal Justice at Chapman University and then earned an M.S. degree in Psychology with an emphasis in forensic psychology at Capella University. “I have experience in social work and I have been working in law enforcement for 2 yrs. I have decided to use my experience and knowledge in behavioral analysis in my consulting business, Hunter Services, where I will be doing corporate threat assessment in order to help prevent workplace and school violence.”
Allison Clark ’03 went to Georgetown University and received a graduate certificate in negotiation. Allison is working at the Department of Justice, where she is helping to streamline the Department to be able to better focus their efforts toward counterterrorism. Allison is also working as a writer and researcher at the Terrorism Research Center in Washington, where she prepares intel reports, terrorist profiles, and researches topics in terrorism and writes papers that are published on the website.
Bridgette (Parsa) Brooks ’01 just received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University and has been hired by Autism Solutions for Kids as Program Coordinator. Bridgette is in charge of assessing children with autism and other special needs and then developing programs that meet their needs.
Jeanette Beland ’89 is Director of Children’s Ministries at St. James Episcopal Church in South Pasadena while at the same time she is completing a joint M.F.T./M.Div. program at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Brock Shinen ’94 has completed law school and passed the bar! Brock is practicing business and entertainment law in Tustin, CA. Brock and Tammy are living in Tustin, CA.
