Kerri Light ’96 is Director of the Shalimar Learning Center in Costa Mesa, an after-school tutoring center serving kindergartners through sixth-graders. “We’re here to provide a safe and positive environment for students to do their homework” according to Kerri. Five schools feed into the Shalimar Learning Center and the related Teen Center.
Heidi (Vieselmeyer ’95) Afusia is working at Pitney Bowes in Irvine, CA as a Certified Postal Consultant and is anticipating entering a doctoral program in psychology in the near future!

Shelly Romanoff has been accepted into the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Ph.D. program at Louisiana State University Medical Center and has been awarded a full Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship. Congratulations!
Wendy Kliewer ’80 was recently promoted to Associate Professor of Psychology and was granted tenure at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she has been teaching for six years.
Carice Blazo ’93 has been a teacher of English as a Second Language with Educational Services International since July 1996. She was recently selected as the recipient of the ESL Teacher of the year Award for the Czech Republic.
Debra (Gil ’94) Muniz and Gary live in Huntington Beach, CA. Debra is in the M.A. Education program at SCC. Their Alysha Caran is one year old!
