Dr. Carol Taylor, PresidentDr. Carol Ann Taylor began as provost/vice president of academic affairs of Vanguard University in August of 2007 and holds a faculty appointment as professor in the School of Education.

Dr. Taylor has a PhD in Multilingual/Multicultural Education from Florida State University, a Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural Communication from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Evangel University.

Before joining Vanguard, Dr. Taylor served for seven years as the vice provost for undergraduate education at Biola University in La Mirada, California. Prior to that, she worked for 12 years in administration and research at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ. She has teaching and administrative experience ranging from elementary education to graduate university levels. Over the years she has served in the public marketplace as an advocate for second language learners and international students; taught at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, Florida State University, and Eastern Michigan University; consulted for state departments of education and national resource centers; and worked with national testing committees on large-scale testing.

She has taught and/or lectured nationally and in 11 countries internationally. Since 2000 she has been delighted to serve in Christian higher education. She has been a facilitator and mentor in the CCCU Women’s Leadership Development Institute and has served on the CCCU Student Academic Programs Commission. Dr. Taylor has written for the CCCU’s April 2011 issue of “Women in the Halls”.

In 2012, Dr. Taylor was one of seventeen senior leaders from Christian colleges and universities across the United States who share fresh insights into the theory and practice of Christian higher education leadership in their book Thriving in Leadership: Strategies for Making A Difference in Christian Higher Education (2012). The contributing authors speak honestly about the successes, failures, and demands that have shaped their current leadership decisions and their visions for the future.  This book is published by Abilene Christian University Press, and is available through the publisher or Amazon (Kindle or Paperback).
