The Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership (JMCHL) is a unit of urban training, strategic networking, and applied research of Vanguard University of Southern California. The purpose is to link scholarship and faith together with experience and participation in service for the development of the church and the betterment of society in Southern California.

To this end, the Center connects the classroom, the church, and the community:

• by meeting the informational needs of the Southern California's church and civic leadership, especially those in communities experiencing the traumatic effects of urbanization, and

• by engaging students and scholars in the integration of theory and practice, knowledge and service for the benefit of the church and community.
