Campus Network Access
The IT Department maintains a sophisticated campus infrastructure with a fiber optic backbone. Each dorm room is equipped with data ports. For students to access the VUSC network from their dorm room, they must provide their own personal computer including a professionally installed Ethernet or Wireless card. Detailed instructions outlining how to connect personal systems to the VUSC network are available in the IT Department or online. Students who need additional assistance logging onto the network may call the IT Help Desk at campus ext. 6500 or E-mail HelpDesk@vanguard.edu. The IT Department will gladly assist students with any login or network connectivity issues, but cannot perform work on students’ personal computers
The IT Department supports and maintains several computer labs located throughout the campus. The main computer labs, located in the Library, are equipped with numerous state-of-the-art computer systems. Each computer is connected to the VUSC network and has internet and printer access. To use the computer labs, students must have obtained a user login from the IT Department.
Every student, faculty and staff will receive a VUSC email address and login to the campus network. Faculty and Staff can check their email at http://mail.vanguard.edu, and Students can check their email at http://vu2go.vanguard.edu from any computer with internet access.

All new students, staff, and faculty are issued a Vanguard ID card from the IT department. These are required for access at various locations across campus. For more information, click here.
Moodle is an interactive online learning environment utilized by all programs throughout Vanguard. Professors uniquely build their courses to impact and increase functionality in student learning. This portal allows professors to upload key lecture notes, create discussion boards, allow students to upload assignments, and many other resources pertinent to each particular course. To access Moodle, simply go to learn.vanguard.edu and use your Vanguard network login.
Students, staff, and faculty may access the myVU portal by going to myvu.vanguard.edu and using their Vanguard network login.
Billing statements are available online by accessing MyBill. Just select the MyBill button within the MyVU portal to access your account. For more information, please visit the Office of Accounting Operations website by clicking here.
The campus phone system is supported and maintained by the IT Department. Full-time staff and faculty are provided with an individual extension with direct dial capability. All dormitories have a phone on each floor for on-campus extensions and emergency use. Students may request to have a land-line installed in their dorm room for personal use. Please contact the IT Help Desk for more information regarding cost and set-up.
All students are given $11.00 in print funds at the beginning of each semester to use for on-campus printing. There are numerous printing locations around campus including the library, Technology Services, and multiple print kiosk stations. For more information, please click here.
Vanguard’s Wi-Fi network covers 99% of the campus. Connect to the “VUWiFi” network and sign in to the Web Authentication webpage using your Vanguard network login. Vanguard Center residents may use a personal router or one may be checked out from the IT department to use throughout the academic year. For additional information, please click here.
Standards for Using the Campus Network
By logging onto our network, students agree to abide by the “Student Guidelines for Computer Usage” as outlined in the Student Life Handbook. Failure to comply with these standards may result in the loss of computer lab and campus network computing privileges. Serious cases of misuse will be investigated by the IT Department and turned over to the Vice President of Student Affairs for further action.
