Have one last laugh before finals! The History & Political Science Department presents The Four Marx Brothers in “Duck Soup” on Friday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. in Heath 100. Duck Soup is the classic 1933 comedy about nationalism, war, and very bad government. Roger Ebert calls it the Marx Brothers best film, while the American Film Institute ranked it #85 on the list of the 100 greatest movies of all time and #5 on their list of the 100 funniest movies of all time. Take a break from studying for finals next week and enjoy a truly funny movie. Free food and drinks! Comedy AND food? Sounds like good times!

Join the History & Political Science Department for a Movie Night on Friday, November 18, at 7:00 p.m. in Heath 100. We will be showing Cinderella Man, the boxing/great depression movie starring Russell Crowe. There will be discussion following the movie. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Kenneth Green, resident scholar at American Enterprise Institute and author of “Abundant Energy: The Fuel of Human Flourishing,” will be speaking on Wednesday, October 26, 7:00-8:30 a.m. in Needham Chapel. All are welcome!
The History & Political Science Department is sponsoring a movie night, showing the Disney movie that Disney doesn’t want you to see on Friday, October 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Heath 100. Join us for a screening of the live action-cartoon film, The Song of the South, followed by a discussion of race and racism in this Disney classic.
Polling for Movie Night Preferences at the Welcome/Welcome Back HPS party produced the following results.
Gettysburg, Last of the Mohicans, and Duck Soup were bunched at the top.
Right behind were The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Thirteen Days.
Frost-Nixon, Triumph of the Will, and Chariots of Fire were the next group, along with Fahrenheit 9/11.

Inductees into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, were Tiffany Cobb, Trevor Herrera, Monty McAnlis, Jessica Morales, and Malissa Romero.
Dual initiates who qualified for membership in both societies were Craig Petrovich and David Vazquez.
