Dr. Terry Zeigler
Dr. Terry A. Zeigler Ed.D., ATC has twenty-five years of experience treating and caring for students as a Board Certified allied health care provider. She specializes in the recognition, assessment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries with expertise in the recognition and management of concussion. Her focused research is in reducing the risk of catastrophic injuries in the sport of competitive cheer and has a number of articles written on the subject. She is also a featured writer and Board member for SportsMD website with published articles on a wide variety of subjects including improving safety in cheerleading, returning to sport safely after an injury, managing concussion, recognizing and preventing eating disorders, women’s health issues, and the proper care of musculosketal injuries. Dr. Zeigler also serves as a tenured professor within the department of Kinesiology.
Dr. Peter Kim
Dr. Kim is the Medical Director of Family Care Centers, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Hoag Hospital, and a recipient of the Physicians of Excellence award from the Orange County Medical Association. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and has been practicing in our community for 18 years. He is an excellent, caring, and well-qualified physician who is dedicated to providing you with superior health care.
A native of Los Angeles, he graduated from UCLA and received his medical training at the LAC-USC Medical Center.
After completing his residency in Family Medicine, he accepted a sports medicine fellowship at San Jose Medical Center, an affiliate of Stanford University. He enjoys working with patients and families who are training or want to get back into an active lifestyle.
He follows a Paleo-based diet, and regularly does kettlebell, running, rowing, Prasara yoga, and bodyweight strength training. He is the former medical director for Vanguard University’s athletic training program, served as a team physician for U.S. Judo, and advises on EMR and medical podcasting/blogging.
Mary’s expertise and experience add an important and vital component to the expanding services provided to the students by the Health Center. Mary graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harding University and her Masters’ of Science in Nursing from CSU Sacramento. She pursued her post-Masters’ education from CSU Long Beach and achieved her National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Mary’s past nursing experiences in both the hospital and primary care settings has provided her with a wide range of knowledge. She is “happy and blessed to be a part of Vanguard University as the Health Center’s Nurse Practitioner”. She looks forward to meeting the students and providing them with quality care.
