Matt Nixon, M.A.

Assistant Director of Graduate and Nursing Admissions

Matt is originally from Palmdale, CA. He graduated from CSU Bakersfield with a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology. Matt is now pursuing his M.A. in Leadership Studies from Vanguard, expecting to finish in August of 2016. Matt has loved his experience as a graduate student at Vanguard and is passionate about sharing his story with potential students. In his spare time, you will find Matt hanging out with his wife, watching sports, and eating Del Taco.

Julie De La O, M.A.

Admissions Counselor: Nursing (RN to BSN, MSN, CNS)

Julie was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Cal Poly Pomona and completed a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Phoenix as an adult student. She completed a Master of Arts in Management degree from University of Redlands in 2014, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Counseling as well as a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS) in Education. Julie lives with her family in Orange County. She is actively involved with her 2 sons and volunteers regularly in her community. She is passionate about education and dedicated to helping others achieve their goals and dreams.

Rebekah Hartman

Admissions Counselor: Clinical Psychology, Education, Leadership Studies, Organizational Psychology, Theological Studies 

Rebekah was born and raised in Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and recently moved to Southern California to pursue a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology at Vanguard University. Going through graduate school herself, she understands the importance of the decision to continue education and develop a career. She enjoys working with prospective students and having the opportunity to be of help while they consider the next steps of their journey. On her down time Rebekah enjoys exploring the outdoors and working on her photography. She is enjoying California’s sunshine and hopes for this to be a season of adventure.
