We are Vanguard University’s local chapter of enactus (formerly know as SIFE), an international non-profit organization that works in partnership with business and higher education. Enactus mobilizes students to discover their own potential by creating economic opportunity for others through community outreach projects. Enactus is active on 1,800 college and university campuses in 48 countries.
Enactus brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business. By contributing their talents to projects that improve the lives of people worldwide, enactus participants are demonstrating that individuals with a knowledge and passion for business can be a powerful force for change.
Our goal is to serve others by providing innovative learning experiences that grow business knowledge, skills, and abilities. We inspire individuals and groups to reach their potential by embracing the principles of free enterprise with a servant’s heart.
History of Enactus at Vanguard
Our chapter of enactus (formerly Students in Free Enterprise) was formed in Spring 2006 by students in Vanguard’s community. One student in particular, Kristi Mederos, was involved with an internship for Advantage Sales and Marketing in which she learned the importance of belonging to an organization like enactus. Enactus would help students gain real world experience to complement their academic education. This event created a passion to launch an enactus team at Vanguard before she graduated in May.
Since 2006, Vanguard University Enactus has focused on teaching innovative techniques for achieving success through teamwork and the positive power of business in Southern California.
