Vanguard University is a quality Christian University with a premier Men's Basketball program located in the heart of Orange County in Southern California. VU provides excellent opportunities for student athletes to grow academically, spiritually, and athletically. And did I mention the great location? Beach days in January. You do the math.

The Men's Basketball program has distinguished itself with a tradition of excellence:

• In 2006 VUSC made its second NAIA National Tournament appearance, losing in OT in the first round.
• The Lions have been crowned the Golden State Athletic Conference Champions three times.  
• Finished in first or second place 8 of the 20 years the GSAC has been in existence.  
• During the 1990 season the team advanced to the "sweet sixteen" at the NAIA National Tournament.  
• VU has had 10 NAIA All Americans, 26 All-GSAC players, and 4 GSAC Players of the Year, including 2006's Horace Wormely.  
• Numerous players have extended their careers overseas in Europe, Asia, and Australia.  
• One player went on on to play with the Harlem Globetrotters. 

 

For each home game the "PIT" is packed and the environment creates a fabulous home court advantage. Vanguard Basketball is something every potential student athlete needs to check out.

Did I already mention the beach days? VU is right on the border of Newport Beach. We're 10 minutes from the sand. You get your fill of sun and surf, and your tan lasts all year long.

The location is not just great for the beach - we're 20 minutes from Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, 90 minutes from Sea World, 60 minutes from Universal Studios Tours, an hour and a half from the mountains, and an hour from Hollywood and Santa Monica.
