Summer Study Abroad Opportunities in El Salvador, Nepal, and India

The Department of Anthropology and Sociology will host a meeting on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 4:15pm in Heath 105 to provide more information about the following study abroad opportunities:

Faith-based poverty alleviation in El Salvador (4 units)

Join Dr. Jamie Huff to work with Salvadoran church leaders and a faith-based non-profit organization to learn about effective strategies for community and economic development.  Gain hands-on experience and discover how ordinary people are creating holistic solutions to poverty.  (DATES: May 13-June 1)

Preventing child-trafficking in Nepal and India (3 units)

This is a field-based, experiential learning course that will introduce you to strategic solutions to the problem of girl trafficking along the Nepal and India border.  Students will learn about the Daughter Project, and work with local organizations and churches that focus on preventing human trafficking and restoring trafficking victims.  (DATES: June 17-July 5)
