The breakfast took place at the Anaheim Marriot bringing together members of the community for fellowship and worship. Vanguard’s music students have been an essential part of the event for the past 13 years.
“We always look forward to partnering with the Y and having the opportunity to inspire a community through praise and worship,” said Dr. Carol Taylor, President of Vanguard University. “Not only did our students showcase their talents, but they also reminded us of why we honor Good Friday.”
This year’s master of ceremonies, KOCE’s Ed Arnold, introduced the Vanguard University Choir and Orchestra and the keynote speaker, Jeff Kemp, a former NFL quarterback and vice president at Family Life and Catalyst for the HomeBuilders Movement. Kemp shared about many of his life experiences and the valuable perspective he holds on teams, leadership, family and marriage.
“Through their musical talent, professionalism, and willingness to be an integral part of this community-focused event, the students add an element of faith and service that is at the core of what we do here at the Y,” Paul Andresen, president and CEO at the Anaheim Family YMCA, said. “We look forward to their continued participation in this event and in others as we identify additional ways to honor God and serve the community together. ”
