If you are a Vanguard University student, alum, former VU athlete, or Vanguard sports fan in general, you likely have seen Vanguard’s old logo. It’s been an important part of Vanguard’s history since 1999, the same year Vanguard underwent a name change from Southern California College (SCC) to Vanguard University. The old logo – a lion (panthera leo) with a mane that doubles as a flame – has been updated to represent the University’s latest branding.
“The new logo is more realistic and features a competitive look,” says Bob Wilson, director of athletics at Vanguard University. “Akins Parker did a superb job of working with our award-winning marketing team and athletics department to capture the energy, passion and intensity with which the Vanguard athletics teams bring to each and every game.”
Along with the new logo, Vanguard University is introducing a new line of apparel that will be available in the University’s bookstore this Fall donning the new logo. More information on this coming soon so make room in your closets.
