jordan_davidson_186_wsoThe heart and mission of Vanguard University is to equip students to live a “Spirit-empowered life of Christ-centered leadership and service.” The core of that mission begins with a life surrendered to Christ. Soccer star Jordan Davidson has made that first step while attending Vanguard University.

A two-year Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Player of the Year and a first-team All-American, Davidson has made her mark on the field. After a successful soccer career, receiving a bachelor’s degree and giving her life to Christ, Davidson will leave Vanguard University equipped for whatever her future holds.

In the Daily Pilot’s article, writer Barry Faulkner captures Davidson’s inspiring story of hard work and commitment that landed her at Vanguard University, which ultimately led her to Christ. “I became a Christian on Sept. 28, 2012 and I was baptized on Easter last year. It’s crazy the changes I have seen in myself and the changes people have seen in me. I realized that soccer was not where my identity was anymore,” Davidson said in her interview with the Daily Pilot.

Davidson transferred to Vanguard University from Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) in Arizona. She scored 28 goals in her two seasons at PVCC and 29 goals in her two seasons at Vanguard. With the women’s soccer team headed to nationals, Davidson may get to add another goal to that number.

The lady Lions will compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championships on Dec. 2-7 in Orange Beach, Ala. To learn more about the NAIA national championships, click here.
