Vanguard Alum Reba Toney Enjoying New Career Path

Vanguard alum Reba Toney ’03 has a TV show, a new book, and a job as a new spokeswoman for “Dreams” by Neihule Nail Lacquer and Salon.

After finding out that she was suddenly out of a job as the morning co-host on “The Family Friendly Morning Show with Bobby Shaw and Reba Toney” on Christian music station KFSH/95.9 FM, “The Fish”, she decided to turn that negative into a positive.

Toney has continued to move forward on her new career path and looks to the future. She is currently focusing on “Top 3,” her twice-weekly young adult talk show that is carried on TBN affiliate JCTV and on www.JCTV.org. She is also speaking around the county on relationship issues with regards to her recently published book, The Rating Game and its website, the ratinggamebook.com. In The Rating Game, Toney gives readers a “fun system” to assess their compatibility with others. Finally, Toney is enjoying her new spokeswoman position for “Dreams,” a beauty product featured in the highly-desired gift bag at the Oscars this year.

Toney has strong ties to Orange County as she attended Vanguard University. “I loved Vanguard,” said Toney. “The professors were always very knowledgeable. It was good training.”

Toney was the World Vision Radio Personality of the Year in 2006 and 2007, and traveled with World Vision to Ethiopia to garner support for the Aids and Children relief campaign. She has also traveled to Ecuador with a relief organization and raised over $75,000 for aid to the Latin America radio campaign, while also raising nearly $100,000 through KKLA for Hope Gardens, a group home for single moms and their children in downtown Los Angeles.
