Costa Mesa, CA, March 19, 2014 – We are pleased to announce the annual celebration of Women’s History Month by honoring our women veterans with army veteran, Chaplain Priscilla Mondt, MDiv, MEd. Mondt will give a special speaking presentation, Monday, March 24 at 4:00 pm at Vanguard University. This event, along with many others, are made possible through Vanguard University’s partnership with the Employees Community Fund of Boeing, who contributes to developing the Orange County Women Veterans Network.
Chaplain Mondt represents the thousands of women veterans from across the decades in the United States Military. Her story and experience in her 31 years of military service are a captivating look at the role of women in the army. After her presentation at the 4:00 pm chapel, Mondt will make an appearance at the post-chapel reception in the Veterans Courtyard at Vanguard University, at 5:00 pm.
Selected as a 2013 White House Champion of Change, Mondt is listed in the World’s Who’s Who of Women and International Biographies. Her highest awards are the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. She also has the distinction of being the first female chaplain assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.
As a pioneering female for the Assemblies of God, Mondt is the first female chaplain denominationally for the Army and first female chaplain both assigned to the Veteran’s Administration and as a chief chaplain. Nationally, she serves on the Veterans Health Administration Diversity and Inclusion Committee and My HealtheVet spirituality editorial board. Mondt currently serves as the chief of chaplain service at Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks.
