Champion Vanguard University Lions Hold Summer Volleyball and Basketball Camps

Costa Mesa, CA, June 11, 2014 – Get that budding athlete of the family to spend a week with true college athletics champions! This summer, join the 2014 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Champions for their annual youth camp, and the summer youth volleyball camp hosted by Vanguard University.

Coming off of their record-breaking national win, the Vanguard University Lions basketball team is offering all-star coaching to kids from all across Orange County. This co-ed camp is for ages 5-13, running 2 weeks in June and July, and not your typical camp experience. Kids will receive top-notch individual and team instruction using daily training exercises, strategically designed to develop athletes and leaders.

In addition to basketball camp, Vanguard University athletics also hosts summer volleyball camp. Offered July 13-17 for kids in grades 5-12, campers will learn new skills and improve existing abilities with titleholder college athletes. This dual camp for both a younger age group and an older group gives experience for potential players on Vanguard college athletics teams.

“This is a great opportunity for younger players to improve their overall game, to ready themselves for their upcoming seasons in school as well as to be coached by current college coaches and players,” said Eryn Leja, women’s volleyball head coach at Vanguard University. “It’s also great for potential recruits to be coached, personally by the Vanguard volleyball staff and to be assessed as a potential addition to our athletic program.”

At the end of the week, campers from both basketball and volleyball programs will go home with not only new leadership and athletic skills, but a t-shirt and free season passes to Vanguard home basketball and volleyball games, to cheer on their newfound mentors.
