Vanguard University music students elevate morning of praise and fellowship for Orange County community at Anaheim Family YMCA event
Costa Mesa, CA, March 20, 2013 – Vanguard University announced today that for the thirteenth year in a row, its music students will be an essential part of the program at the Anaheim Family YMCA’s annual Good Friday Breakfast on March 29, 2013 at 7:15 a.m. at the Anaheim Marriott. Vanguard singers and musicians will entertain an anticipated audience of 1,000 business leaders and attendees.
The Good Friday Breakfast, a non-denominational event that embodies the philosophy of the YMCA, began in 1968 with 200 attendees. The annual gathering is designed to bring the community together to gather in fellowship and worship music.
“The award-winning Vanguard University choir and orchestra have greatly enriched our Good Friday Breakfast these last several years,” says Paul Andresen, president and CEO at the Anaheim Family YMCA. “Through their musical talent, professionalism, and willingness to be an integral part of this community-focused event, the students add an element of faith and service that is at the core of what we do here at the Y. We look forward to their continued participation in this event and in others as we identify additional ways to honor God and serve the community together. ”
Master of ceremonies, KOCE’s Ed Arnold, will introduce the Vanguard University Choir and Orchestra and this year’s keynote speaker, Jeff Kemp, a former NFL quarterback and Vice President at Family Life and Catalyst for the HomeBuilders Movement. Other notable keynote speakers have included Gavin MacLeod, Carl Karcher, Pat Boone, Rosie Greer, Mark Victor Hansen, Stephanie Edwards and Shirley Jones, to name a few.
