Internships begin June 3rd and go through the end of August 2008. The minimum weekly requirement is 10 hours per week, but will depend on school requirements and ministry needs. Internships may be used to fulfill hours/credits for graduation requirements. It is the responsibility of the intern to ensure that his or her school’s requirements are met. Internships are not paid. I have listed more information below. If you have any questions about these opportunities please contact myself or Amy Burdick [aburdick@rockharbor.org | 714.384.0914 x135].
At ROCKHARBOR, we believe internships are about more than the morning Starbucks run. They're about personal development. We see an internship in which young people can invest their time, energy, abilities, and education into the local church in a way that brings about personal discovery and transformation. Internships should be about putting into practice what students have learned and experienced in the classroom.
That's what we offer: an internship unlike any other. Internships are available in a wide variety of ministries, with opportunities for students in all areas of study. Intern responsibilities vary depending on the ministry in which the intern is involved. Current internship opportunities include:
Arts
Campus Life Groups
Celebration Services
Communications—Writing and production for MOTION
Early Childhod
Elementary Celebration Services
Facilities
Kidsrock Events & VBS
Involvement
Production
Global REACH
Serve Day
Shark Club

in their own words…
WOW!!! Where do I begin!? My internship has been/is WONDERFUL. The staff here have been SO friendly and welcoming to me. They are open to working with me so that I am placed in areas where my strengths can be used!... This internship also allowed for me to feel more apart/involved with ROCKHARBOR. I found it easy to feel lost in a church this large in size and wanted to change that. This was a GREAT opportunity for that!!!
Melissa Wiens, Early Childhood Intern, Spring 2008
The last two months have been absolutely amazing! This has definitely been a very real experience and you really get a sense of fulfillment. Just as anything that can be very beneficial it can also be very challenging. Working with such a great staff is all worthwhile and my eyes have been opened up to the ministry but even more so to myself.
