Audition Information
Students seeking to enroll in the music degree program or those who are interested in participating in the University Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus, University Concert Orchestra, or University Jazz Ensemble are required to perform an entrance audition in their primary performing medium (i.e. guitar, voice, trumpet). Students who live within a 200-mile radius of Vanguard University are required to audition in person, all other students who are unable to attend a live audition are required to submit a DVD/VHS video audition in their primary performing medium. Please read the Audition Guidelines located below before sending in your DVD/VHS video audition.
Students entering their first semester at Vanguard University who are interested in applying for a Music Activity Scholarship may do so at the time of their audition. Priority deadline for Music Activities Scholarship funding will be April 16, 2010. Students who are submitting a DVD/VHS video audition must have videos turned in by April 09, 2010. For more information regarding eligibility for the Music Activity Scholarship, please contact the Department of Music. Incoming students who receive a Music Activity Scholarship will be notified by mail no later than the last week of April, 2010.

All students who will be enrolling academically with music as their major or minor emphasis must audition prior to August 1, 2010. Those accepting scholarships are required to attend Music Camp, which will be held the week before fall semester begins. Contact the Department of Music for registration information.
