Mathematics Major(1)
Mathematics Readiness Examination (MRE): A two-hour examination will be given to new students during registration. Passing this examination at level 1 qualifies the student for both Scientific Statistics and Mathematics for Elementary Teachers. Passing the examination at level 2 qualifies the student for both Trigonometry and College Algebra. Passing at level 3 means the student is eligible for Precalculus and passing at level 4 qualifies the student for Calculus I. Students that fail the examination at all levels must take remedial work at a community college and then re-take the examination.
